1) How do I order a portrait painting?

You need to have a digital image of the person(s) you want to have painted and attach it when submitting your order. Other than that you don't have to worry too much as we will only carry out an order if we can guarantee that the result will live up to our standards.

2) How is a portrait painting from SCHOW KARLSEN ART made?

Process: When you order a portrait painting the image(s) you submitted will first be reviewed by us. After we have approved your portrait image through dialogue with you we will make a print of the image and one of our talented portrait painters will start painting the portrait. Your painting will be therefore be painted as an oil painting version in a modern naturalistic style of the image you have sent in. When your portrait painting is finished, we will send you a photo of the painting for approval. After approval the portrait painting is ready to be signed, framed and shipped towards your address.

3) Who paints SCHOW KARLSEN ART's portrait paintings?

Skilled portrait painters: Your portrait painting will be painted from scratch by one of our competent Chinese portrait painters. SCHOW KARLSEN ART colaborate with several Chinese artists who all live up to a very high standard of portrait painting. The artist will by standard sign the painting in the lower right corner after the painting has been approved by both us and you.

4) Delivery time

Normally it will take about 4-5 weeks from the day you order your portrait painting until the day you receive it. We ship by air from Hong Kong, which is the fastest mode of transportation available to us. We ship by either DHL, FedEx or TNT and you will receive a tracking number from us as soon as its available to us.

NOTE: You don't pay any delivery fee but we don't cover any import duty or value-added tax (VAT) that might be imposed according to the specific regulations of your country.

5) What materials are used for a portrait painting from SCHOW KARLSEN ART?

Genuine high-quality oil paintings: Your portrait painting will be painted with authentic oil paint of very high and durable quality. All our basic materials are also of excellent quality. This applies to the canvas, oil paint, brushes and other utensils. The basic ingredients we use must of course match the quality of our talented painters.

6) I have a picture that I like, but I'm not sure if the quality is high enough. What do I do?

Solution: It's very simple. Just send us an e-mail at support@schowkarlsen.com and attach your desired portrait image in the email. After evaluation we will provide you with an answer to your request.
